Hi everyone,

Just had a quick question regarding the May 15 deadline. Do students have to withdraw their other A’s prior to May 15? Or will the other schools email them to do it/pay their deposit within a certain time frame before their acceptances are rescinded? Thanks!

Per AACOMAS traffic guidelines,

prior to May 15, applicants need to withdraw from any college(s) which they do not plan to attend and only hold a position at one COM to avoid having positions withdrawn.

After May 15 of the year of matriculation, each medical college may implement college-specific procedures for accepted students who hold one or more seats at other medical colleges.

So there will most likely be school-specific actions after May 15th since they will know of your other acceptances. This could be an email saying you have X many days to commit or your acceptance will be withdrawn.

You can hold onto any waitlists, but you must notify and withdraw from other schools that you're accepted to.

The schools will just drop your acceptance automatically for the ones with deposits that you don’t do. But as shared above, I would formally drop them so the school you want to attend doesn’t see you’re holding seats elsewhere at any point past May 15th.
