May have done stupid phone-related thing on test day... Help

So I was on the first break and getting food out of my locker when I saw my phone light up... So reflexively, I looked at it to see who was messaging me, still holding it in my locker. Then I (most stupidly) decided to try to give myself some peace of mind by looking up something related to my iffiest question on the last section. Then someone else walked out of the test room asking about the way to the restroom, and the proctor said 'it's down the hall, no cell phones'. Crap! I hadn't realized we could use them over the break... Why let us even have access to them then?

Nobody saw because it was in or by my locker the whole time... And despite the camera pointing at the lockers the screen watchers didn't catch it either, probably because my body was in the way. I was still a nervous wreck through the CARS though... Kept expecting to get tapped on the shoulder anytime and asked to leave.

What should I do? Everything's recorded. According to Prometric's PR material they have a team of 'expert auditors' review the recordings. I didn't get seen the first time though so idk if it was even in view... Do they really have someone sit down and dissect 7 hours of video on 20 screens for every testing site? I'm so paranoid they're going to think I was cheating though...

What should I do? Should I go in and... Confess, or something? I don't want this to end up on my record... But if they're going to catch me anyway I might as well earn their good graces by bringing it to their attention...

**** I hope not. Unrelated, but I was pretty much picking my nose throughout the whole test because it was irritated/itchy on the inside for some reason.

Nose picking is NOT allowed in Prometric testing centers, especially if you wipe your boogers onto the scrap paper before turning it in.

Honestly, OP, I think you'll end up doing yourself in if you go overboard about this. You definitely should not have looked something up on your phone, which will be considered cheating even if you took that section already. It's best to just leave cellphones at home.

op you are fine unless you make a perfect score. They would've not let you finish. And you made a honest mistake. IMO you messed up be you could've been looking at important notes for the next section ha

Probably shouldn't have posted it on SDN since AAMC reads some of the threads here. Either way, I'm not sure if anything will happen but what you did isn't allowed.
