So here's the deal, I would LOVE to volunteer in the ER wing of a hospital. I have been in the ER room myself, as well as my family. It is a very interesting and intense atmosphere. How would I go about doing this? Do I just call the ER wing and ask about volunteering? Anyone who has done this, I would like to learn about your experience. Thanks guys : )

For my ER volunteering I applied online to their volunteer program and expressed interest in the ER. Look if your hospital has an online section about volunteering. If they don't, you can call them but they may not accept volunteers

Yep, basically what the above said. Normally, hospitals will hire a volunteer coordinator. Get in touch with him/her, fill out the application and background check, and you should be able to volunteer there. Keep in mind, there will always be other pre-meds in there trying to volunteer and your hours may be hard to get.
