Hi Guys,

I know these questions can be quite annoying, but I would really like your opinion. I get a little neurotic about my chances because I have this theory that after the economic meltdown of 2008, everyone and their mom decided they wanted to become a dentist. After, 2 years of preparing, this 2011 application cycle is going to have the most number of applicants ever, even with the economy improving..

Anyways....

Undergrad degree: Engineering and minor in computer science
GPA: 3.23 (3.3 considering my postbac grades)
Work experience: Automotive Engineer for Toyota with international experience for 6 years (no not designing accelerator pedals:laugh:)
Started my postbac on 5/2010: 14 hours of prereqs with gpa of 4.0
DAT score: I'm taking it in 3 weeks, and judging by my practice tests I'll probably get somewhere between 19-21 AA and 23-25 PAT.

I've shadowed about 50 hours, and plan on getting another 50 by the time I'm ready to start interviewing.

What do you guys think? I'll probably apply to 15 or so schools.

Whats are your sGPA and BCP GPAs?

Assuming they are at the same level (or higher) than your overall, I'd say with a 20+ AA on the DAT, you have a pretty decent shot.

Just make sure you get ur LORs in order before june... it is SUCH a hassle to run around after professors / other writers trying to get them to finish.

Thanks. I really hope I get a 20+. Anyone else have an opinion?

I don't think I would have stood a chance with my undergrad gpa, but that was over 7 years ago and I did study engineering.

Don't engineers usually wait until all the data is available before venturing into reaching a conclusion?
