So AACOMAS is going to be opening in a couple of weeks and I just want to make sure all of my ducks are in a row.

I am working on the application now so hopefully I will be able to just upload it, so I am not too worried about that.

I think I need to file for FAP on like May 7th? correct?

Soon as May hits, start sending out transcript requests (have 4 schools where they are coming from)? Or could I even do that now?

Get my committee letter writer to finish up and get my letter sent to my interfolio by like the end of June.

Is there anything else I am forgetting? I feel like there is something I am forgetting to do? My goal is to submit day one.

Looks good. I'd submit transcript requests May 1. I also have down May 7th for the fee waiver, so drop that in the mail May 7.

June 1 is so close!! Best of luck!

I believe the recommendation is to not send transcripts early as I don't think AACOMAS accepts them and you would have to resend. You might be able to order your transcripts with a release date in May so that the schools already have them ready. I was able to do that for one of my transcripts but not the others. Good luck.

Does anyone know the exact date you can submit your application? Its in the beginning of June right? I just did a quick search but could not find anything.
It's the beginning of June, but not always the 1st. It's different year to year.

What you can also do now is make an excel spreadsheet of all of your courses along with their grades by semester, taking note of any retakes. That way you can just copy and paste it into AACOMAS when it opens.

sharp idea, I really like that. I have copies of my official transcripts, but that would definitely make it easier. Thanks for the idea!

If you send transcripts early, they will be tossed to the trash. That's what they do for early DO-FAP. Just put your requests in May.

So to be clear, if aacomas receives physical transcripts in May they will get tossed?

Keep in mind too sometimes you have to remind the people at AACOMAS to update your application. For example, I had a couple of transcript updates and sent in the official transcripts to them. It took them almost 4 months to have it updated (after being verified). They only updated when I emailed and reminded them.

I 100% agree that applying early and broadly increases your chances of getting accepted somewhere, but sending in your application day 1 compared to 3 or 4 weeks after the application opens really doesn't make a whole lot of difference. I waited about 3 weeks to submit mine and I actually had my app processed before many of the day 1 applicants (this might have been because I was a re applicant).

Some schools don't send out secondaries until September/ October. You have the right idea about submitting early but there's no need to freak yourself out about getting everything in line for day 1. If your app is processed by the end of August I would say you are considered very early and in great shape. Good luck

I hope this is the truwae ! 🙂
but did you submit the whole application during the 3rd week or did you get the app verified earlier (maybe waiting for MCAT ?..)

From personal experience I've learned that if you apply very early you'll get interview invites to schools you may have a connection to or strong ties to the region of the school before others that don't. For example, I did undergrad in the PNW and last year I interviewed at CUSOM. This year I applied early and I was in the first interview groups at PNWU, Comp-NW, and CUSOM. I got into all three. The other school I interviewed at, I didn't have ties to and was not in one of the first interview groups. I didn't get into that school. Obviously, my experience doesn't mean everyone's will be like mine, but as a reapplicant I highly suggest applying as early as you can.
