How disadvantageous is it for a Texas/TMDSAS applicant to take the MCAT for the first time May 20th, and not get score back until June 21st?
I know that Texas applications open May 1st, so I am wondering how big of a disadvantage it would be for schools not to get my MCAT scores until June 21st (assuming that I submitted my primaries very early in May and finished secondaries as soon as they came)? I am wondering if it is worth it to bump my MCAT 2 weeks earlier to May 6 (receiving scores June 6) to be earlier / have better chances. If I take with the 20th or 6th of may MCAT, would I still be in the first batch? I realize mid-June is plenty early for AMCAS, but the Texas schools seem to be on a faster pace.
It would be less convenient as I would need to travel much further and pay more money and have 2 weeks less to study if I switched to May 6, but if it will really help my chances for Texas schools, I would be willing to make that change. Any advice or thoughts??
