I have just finished my 3rd year, going on to 4th year undergrad for Biomedical Sciences. I took my DAT today. My scores are
Bio - 20
GC - 22
OC - 24
PAT - 20
RC - 20
QR - 20
TS - 21
AA - 21
I have a fair GPA (3.5x). I am applying this 2015 cycle. I have submitted my AADSAS and LORs. I have around 100+ hours of shadowing.
But I have been hearing that it's getting more competitive to get in with my DAT score and GPA. My question is, should I plan for retaking the DAT? I know this question might sound conceited but it's my true worry because I can only apply to 7 schools (for financial reasons) and I picked:
Nova Southeastern, UF, Lecom (Bradenton), U of Louisville, U of Kentucky, Case Western Reserve, and U of Oklahoma. These schools I saw on the ADEA guide 2013 that their average DAT is 19-20 and their admission GPA is also in the 3.4-3.9 range.
Won't they pick the guy with 3.9x GPA over me with the same DAT score? When it gets that competitive, will I get a shot? What can I do to make myself stand out more? I appreciate any helpful response.
