Is it standard to use this book in M2? We are using it for systems and although some of it reinforces pathophysiology, I'm feeling most of it is geared towards treatments (which we are tested on) and that just seems a bit premature (i.e. not very high yield at this stage of the game). I can see this book really coming through during rotations and boards (beyond step 1) but this seems like an overkill. Maybe that's just my naivety speaking.

Thoughts? Are you guys using this during systems as well? Maybe it's standard... I have no idea.

Its premature for board purposes, but it's good for real life knowledge. It's actually kind of in the middle between fake board medicine and real life medicine, so it's a nice balance. I wish Iffocused more on actual medicine opposed to board material.

Thanks for replying cliquesh. Just seeing this now.

Glad to hear that someone at your stage of the game has something good to say about the book, because my hate was growing strong for that monster. Interestingly enough, after I wrote the post, I started a new chapter in there and found it to be somewhat enjoyable. I guess it varies from author to author.

I'll take that bit of advise you dropped right there as well 😉
