Right now I am thinking about taking the MCAT in April of 2017 and then going to medical school in 2018. I do not know exactly how early medical schools want me to take the MCAT, but I am only taking 6 credits next semester and will be studying for the MCAT and throughout the summer while working part-time. Then I will finish my Bachelor's degree hopefully in fall of 2017 and graduate. I'm not sure how much time I will have to study this semester but I will do my best.

Then I'd have from end of December or January till April to study really hard and see how I do. I would buy the AAMC test packs but my question is should I go ahead and wait till 2017 to buy the books? I have a friend who is giving me assistance. I could check out the MCAT books at the library for now which are 2015 and wait to buy them until I really need them. Also, would about the AAMC practice exams? I heard they are like $100. Do you think I could find free practice exams online for now and then once I do a lot of studying before I take the exam?

Also, what is the best way to approach the studying? Try to do a subject once a week or for a month? I know my weakest areas are physics, organic chemistry and the critical analysis section. I am taking a speed reading class this summer which should help.

I am in biochemistry now. I am wondering if I should study that right away or study my weakest areas first?
