wanted to ask an opinion of this forum about two things... beware, stats listed below.

right now, i'm finishing bio and taking physics. the quarter is over jun 20-ish. should i wait until those grades come out to submit amcas? without them my bcpm is 3.6-ish (overall 3.7), and they would both a little bump i hope. also, i still have to finish physics this summer, so i'd have more prereqs on my transcript if i wait. but again... waiting...

my practice tests all are around 34 right now. i'm aiming for 36 at least. i'm scheduled to take the july 15 mcat, which is LATE. i'm thinking of moving it up to jun 15, but my job is crazy stressful until then so i dont' know how much better i'll be able to do. is it better to take it a month earlier and score a point or two less? if i wait until july, my score will be released aug 15--would hurt my chances? anyone here who was verified in aug that doens't feel like that hurt you?

thanks, i know this is a very personal post so i appreciate anyone taking the time to read and advise.

I recommend waiting until after the term is over before submitting your grades. I don't think that the bump will matter much, but it might: it's good that the last few grades on your list will be strong A's. Plus, you'll still be getting in your AMCAS just a few weeks after the opening, which is plenty early.

Not sure what to tell you about the MCAT. Mid-July is quite late, I agree, but you do want to max out your score. My inclination is to go ahead and submit AMCAS in late June, rock out that MCAT, and hope you start getting interviews right away. I think it depends on how much you can improve your score in that month. If you're only going to boost it one or two points, I would just go ahead and take the MCAT in June. But if you think that extra month is worth 5 points, then wait to take it in July. FWIW, my score improved tremendously in the last 3 weeks before I took the MCAT, so I would buckle down for a month and then take it in July.

I haven't applied yet though, so I would depend more on the advice of applicants who had AMCAS verified in August, as you mentioned.
