Haven't clean-shaved in about three weeks, man. I'm serious. I don't know...it's like, once you get so close to such a big exam, you stop caring about what you look like for a while. I was debating whether or not I should shave the day of the MCAT so that they can easily match my face with the picture on the license.

I heard of med students doing this over the course of the year. Never heard of it for MCATs although it does sound kinda cool.

I put off getting a haircut till after my MCAT and I must say, my hair is pretty damn long. Unfortunately, my half-flilpinoness won't allow me to get that schnazzy beard. I wonder when my half-irish side will kick in and let me look like a lumberjack.

Aww man I'm half too and my facial hair grows so fast I wish I could get rid of it. 🙁

not doing this (even thuogh I have about 10 days of growth at the moment)

1) easier to match ID which is obviously nothobolike
2) comfort

haha i definitely did this for the aug 22nd mcat. it looked horrible too. i did it for about 3 weeks. i never really went out in public so i didnt worry too much about it lol gotta love studying all the time.

I shaved before the MCAT, and why wouldn't I? I have to look my best before acing a test.

i've heard of people not shaving until they took their mcats for long times. about 2-3 months. they lasted about 2 weeks. lol

Pretty sure if I shaved I'd lose the knowledge/MCAT-taking prowess that my whiskers have absorbed over the past two months. (Superstition or not, I need all the help I can get...)

Plus, after a while I start looking like Ewan Mcgregor in the last Star Wars. Way more awesome look for test day than clean-shaven.

Man Im indian don't gotta worry about the hair haha! Beard is getting their but hair not lackin at all.

I totally did it, and it was totally awesome. But more as a joke.

The added insulation (after you become used to the itchiness at first) most likely increased my test taking abilities, especially in that frigid test room with that AC cranked up wayyyyy to high.

The best part about SDN and the neurotics on the website is that i wouldn't be surprised if a whole bunch of people tried to grow beards if it somehow better prepared you for the test!!!
