After talking to a few people who have taken the mcats in june, july, and august... all of them have told me that they felt the bs passages have been experiments and the questions are more analyzing the experiment rather than actually using your biology knowledge that you would get from a book.

Have other people noticed that? Also, does anyone know an effective way to study for this?

thanks!

Practice.

Just practice, dude. Practice your critical thinking/reading skills.
The MCAT is about critical thinking as much as it is about content review and stuff.

I don't think you can speculate. The content changes from test to test. All the same basic skills are being tested, but the topics vary widely from exam to exam. The only trend I've noticed is an increase in molecular biology being featured in BS.

A lot of experiments require existing knowledge to understand the nuances.

And there's always a lot of genetics
