i called jefferson and the lady told me there is a mcat subscore cutoff at 9. i have a hard time believing that because their averages are all below 10. anyone out there accepted to jefferson with a subscore below 9?

our family friend is a senior member of the adcomm there (unforunately i'm not applying there) and he says there is a formula that they go by to determine not only secondaries, but interviews (and eventually rank waitlist peeps). mcat is a whopping 50% of the intial formula ... something like mcat + 10*gpa> some number (haha, sorry i can't remember the crucial number), but like nyu, they try and scare you away if you have any low sounding numbers. they def do accept people with lower (a kid at my school got in with a 6V - non urm - suburban american, nothing spectacular except great grades). goodluck, its a good school in a good area.

i definitely think the lady you spoke to is on crack! If you've got a good gpa and decent mcat score, apply. Most of time, those ladies don't even know what they are talking about.
