Hi, I’m looking to take the MCAT, April 2020 and apply in 2020. I know applications open in May /June. Which test date is appropriate to be able to get scores in a timely manner? I’m new to the application process so help will be appreciated! Thanks.

- April 4 : score release May 5
- April 24 : score release May 27
- April 25 : score release May 27

Either will be fine. The first day you can submit is May 31st. With the earlier date, you will have more time to make a final school list and still get it in on the first day. With the later date, you still will be able to submit on the first date, but you will probably only submit you app to your state school(s) on May 31st until you get a better idea of what schools you want to apply to based on what you are competitive for.

In terms of verification time, both options will yield the same result as long as you submit on May 31st (you can always add schools after you submit - it isn't a one and done thing). So it's up to you. I would opt for a bit more time to study for the MCAT.

Thank you very much!

Do you need MCAT score to get committer letter if school uses committee letters?

I have heard of a few schools that require that; I have also had a few schools require essentially a completed AMCAS prior
Won't it be difficult to get committee letters during summer if OP takes MCAT in April?
