Hi SNPers,

I have an MCAT dilemma that I just can't seem to figure out.

I am a junior and plan on applying summer of senior year (already taking a year off). When this summer comes, I still will not have taken Physics 1 and Physiology (I know it's not required but I really want to take it still).

I originally was going to take Physics I over the summer, study for my MCATs, and set a goal of taking it in September. And the Physiology I might either not take or try to squeeze it in this coming semester.

However, I just recently got news of a great internship. And I think I'm going to do it. It requires that I'm abroad for at least 2 months in the summer, and that puts a wall on my MCAT studying plans. I also cannot take Physics, which means I'd have to take Physics and Physiology in the fall semester when I come back, and hopefully push for the January test date (I have 6 weeks of winter break at my school).

I'm very very nervous about this. I've read a lot of SNP posts, and I know that studying for MCAT on top of a class schedule is recipe for disaster. Those will be my two classes, but I also am writing a senior thesis which will take up time as well. I just don't know what to do. It's as if whichever I choose (MCAT or internship, I will lose in some way).

My question is: What would you do in this case? Is it possible/suggested that I just study in the end of summer/fall semester/winter break--and more so because I'm taking two MCAT-content classes? I could definitely study for the MCATS while abroad, but how much of that information will I retain if I take the January test?

Thanks all. I really appreciate suggestions and help!

What's an SNP?

When you say you haven't taken physics 1 yet, do you mean you haven't taken physics 2 either or you have taken physics 2 and just need 1?

I think I would vote for option 2 though, the internship sounds cool and 2 classes is a pretty light schedule. I think its very doable to just aim for a january test date. I don't think you should be that worried. If you think your fall course load will be too heavy then don't take the physiology.
