Hi everyone,

I was a double major in Public Health & Biology in undergrad and wanted to follow up with an MPH (or MHA) before going to medical school.

Does anyone know of any programs that accept the MCAT (or even no graduate testing) in lieu of the GRE? I don't want to take another standardized exam if I do not have to.

My apologies if this question has been asked many times before.

there are a whole bunch of programs that allow you to apply with just the MCAT score. you'll probably have to look at the individual program websites to find out which programs do though i seem to remember there being some sort of PDF with this information aggregated but can't find it at the moment.

I got in to Rutgers SPH with 8year old mcat score... Having the MD and being a resident on campus/former med student (new jersey med school) probably had more to do with it that the mcat. Look into md/mph programs, might shave a year off and take your mcat... If you qualify

Depends on the program you are applying to. Many top programs in epidemiology and health behavior and education, such as JHU, Michigan and Columbia, accept MCAT in lieu of the GRE, but you have to search each individual school and check their requirements. Schools like Harvard do not accept MCAT scores unless you are already enrolled in a medical school or have an MD/DO. Also, if you are applying MD/MPH, then you don't need the GRE at all (at least that is what I have been told).

University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University will take MCAT in place. I am currently a MPH student at Nova. I took both because my GRE percentile a where vey high compared to my MCAT. Remember that even though GRE is easier, someone with a higher percentile GRE will be picked over someone with a lower percentile MCAT.
