I know this is a dumb question but, Can someone please help me understand how to interpret data in a table such as below? I really get confused when I see these type of data tables. Thank you.

So for this table, from the avaliable data we can see the degree of correlation between the two variables: (1) being the first and (2) being the second.

The correlation basically describes how well can we explain variable 1 using variable 2 and vice versa. A negative value indicates a negative correlation where an increase in one variable causes a decrease in the other variable (inverse correlation) and a positive value is a direct relationship where an increase in one causes an increase in another, (or decrease depending on the data).

In this table, the reason we see 1.00 (the greatest correlation possible) is because we are comparing the same variable to itself, which means that it would be weird if there wasn't a 1.00 there. That -.02 is between variables (1) and (2). Usually, we say regressions from 0-.3 are weak, .4-.7 are moderate and .7-1.00 are strong. A value of -.02 indicates there is a weak, negative correlation between the two variables. In terms of the variables, it essentially means that an increase in the assessment of the current state of research (1) is correlated with a decrease in posting behavior (2), although that correlation is very weak. Hope this helps!
