Hey all,
I plan to retake the MCAT this summer and then apply. My first go around at the MCAT was horrible and made me realize a lot. I have been studying since late March and planned to take it June 27th. But, I am in my last semester of college so with classes, it has been difficult to get a good amount of studying every week. I have been doing practice exams and I realize that I'm not doing horrible but I should take more time to study. My question is, with all the new changes to the MCAT exam would it be bad to sign up for a mid-july (July 18th) test date? This would mean I would get my score back early August.
I plan to get my app verified early so once I receive my score back and if it is good, I will add schools immediately so my app can be sent out. I am more so worried about being late. The applications do not go to schools till July 10th, so I want to know if sending my app to schools around early August would be considered late or is that a bad way of thinking? My stats are good so I am more worried about the MCAT. I got A's in pretty much all the prereqs for the MCAT and medical school but have trouble transferring that knowledge to the test. I just feel like I need more time, but I do not want to push it back too far if it will negatively affect me. Especially, since school is almost over and I still have a good amount of time to put in full-time studying once school ends. What do you guys think?
