Hey everyone... I'm writing on Jan 25th (retake) and for some reason I feel like a ritual would help me get settled. I still have a bunch of full lengths to take over the next 12 days, and I've been contemplating making a t-shirt or decorating a pair of underwear or something that I can wear each time I take a test.

Anyone do something like this? In a test where so much is up to chance and luck... I'd like to feel that I have control over something!

I, for one, feel that wearing the same pair of underwear for 12 days is probably a very bad idea.

Haha... trust me, that is not my intention. I would wash them in between! 😛

I got in the habit of waking up when I would need to wake up. I usually woke up at 12ish, but my test was in the morning and somewhat far away. Then I took the test starting at the time my test was set for. Some people also go to the library to get the feeling of taking the test in a different place and with some noise. Even better would be to take it in a computer lab with people typing. Then after every section I used the bathroom to get into that habit. You don't really want to get up during a section. I'm sure it can be done, but it would eat up a good chunk of time.

I saw on a TV ad that "smell is the sense most linked to memory" or something like that. So maybe try putting on the cologne and it may help you. I do this by chewing the same gum when I studied and take tests, this is with taste but I can smell the gum as well. I dont think you can chew gum during the MCAT so I am not doing it for this.
