Does anyone have any idea if there is an MCAT score conversion chart available? I am looking for something that would show how many items right/wrong equals a certain score. For example, a score of 12 in biologic sciences is 6 wrong (I am making that up).

Are you referring to a particular practice test or an actual MCAT? Most practice tests provide raw-to-scaled conversion tables, however, AAMC does not release the conversion for operational MCAT's.

As alluded to by bluemonkey, each conversion chart is specific for a particular test. So, it is not possible to go into your real MCAT with the knowledge that you can afford to get X number of questions wrong on this section and get a certain score, if that's what you're after.

Thanks guys, for your answers. I had noticed that different practice tests gave different scores for the same number wrong; I didn't know if this also occurred on the actual MCAT. Sounds like it does.

Rule of thumb: if you on average miss less than 1 wrong per passage, you are hitting 10+ for that section. In terms of raw score, 80% or above usually lands you 30+. 90% is about 35+, and 95% is 40ish. Depends on the curve, of course.

thanks for the information

Is that accurate? I doubt I got 90% of the questions correct.

I'm scoring 89% on the nose most of the time on AAMC's, and my scores have been: 37, 37, 35, 35, 35. That's with PS 14-13, BS 13-11 and VR 11-9.

But again, it really depends on the section. Obviously, VR is my weakness. Imagine my frustration when I pulled 35/40 on AAMC 7 and got an 11. Seriously? Almost 90% correct, and I get an 11? GAH!!
