hey guys, i wrote the 8/17 exam and came out of it feelings like absolute **** due to my very first encounter with dense experimental BS. i didnt void but i did however immediately register for the 9/6 exam which, i felt, went rather well.

now obviously the scores for 8/17 will come out 2 weeks in advance. if by some miracle i did well on the test, and i send the scores to my schools, wht happens in regard to my 9/6 scores? will AAMC automatically update my schools of my 9/6 exam when it becomes available? or will i have to go back and resend those as well?

and what if my 8/17 scores r better than my 9/6 scores? will schools see my 9.6 scores no matter what?

thx in advance.

From what I understand, MCAT THx includes all MCAT scores, even 2003. It seems logical they would include/update your file accordingly and completely.

I believe AMCAS automatically sends your MCAT scores to colleges you've applied to, right? If so, yes, they'll send your 9/6 scores automatically. And yes, if your 8/17 scores are higher schools will still see the 9/6 scores, hence why I told people back in the 8/17 thread not to retake the MCAT before January unless they voided on 8/17.

There is a pretty simple explanation here. AMCAS will get both of your scores, so long as you submit them through THx. You said you felt as though the later scores were better than the earlier ones. This is good. However, if it's the other way around, this is bad.

Go with your gut feeling, and release both sets of scores to AMCAS. Then, all the schools on your list will see them, and see that you improved the second go-around. Which is good!
