Hello all! I plan on retaking MCAT in June/July 2019. I’ve been away from the forums for a while and don’t know what study materials are “best” during this current time. My science (c/p) and CARS section killed me during my first take. What materials would best prepare me for these sections specifically?

I used TBR for all my sciences and they have been incredible. Their passages and questions have the best answer explanations of any resource and they have helpful strategies and mnemonics. I improved massively in my sciences. I used EK an TPR for CARS and felt the combination was very helpful. I'm not sure my recommendation is as credible here as I have not mastered CARS. I think the issue is me and not the materials.

What helped me to decide on what to use was reading hundreds of messages at SDN and reddit by people who had actual real scores. I chose by eliminating the materials common in people who were not scoring as well. Once you are done with your first half of review (the TBR, EK, and TPR books) you need to do ALL of the AAMC material. The Q packs are on the easy side and the Section Banks are gold.

Thanks for your input. I’ll definitely purchase the Berkeley review for science based content. I have nextstep’s CARS book that I can use until I find another source.

Would you recommend starting on the Q packs first or the Section Banks?
