I plan on taking mcat April 2013, I also planned on taking a 3 month prep course starting in january.

My question is, would it be overkill I used the Sn2 schedule and starting reviewing material already in october/fall, or should i just wait until the prep course?

If you're considering studying/reviewing prior to your test prep course, just use the Sn2 schedule and save yourself the money on the test prep company.

You may find it hard to stay disciplined, which is pretty much the sole advantage of these prep courses. That's pretty much the only reason I think one should spend the kind of money those courses require (if you aren't disciplined enough to do it on your own).

I find it hard to get disciplined, but if you keep pushing yourself, its easy to get through the material yourself, seriously save the money and just study by yourself for the MCAT. Personally I am using the Princeton Review.

The 2013 MCAT test schedule has been released? Good to know (if it has).

I plan on taking in the spring of 13 too and I really think studying in October really is overkill for a test in April, but then again I haven't taken the MCAT so take my opinion lightly, but I would just wait for the prep course to begin in January.
