I have mild anxiety. I get very nauseous, foggy, and out of breath during exams. I refuse to take meds because I did not like it. I wasn't myself.... This is my second time taking the MCAT and my test anxiety wasn't too bad during my first attempt. I was allowed to take in some Pepto Bis because I told them I had the runs (which I usually do). I started doing yoga to destress and was wondering if I am allowed to do yoga during my break AS WEIRD as that sounds... Also has anyone tried using essential oils during breaks? I was thinking about rubbing eucalyptus on my wrists.

Any tips for test anxiety? Also FYI: I have emetophobia (I can see others vomit but when I am nauseous I freak and get a panic attack. I haven't thrown up in 10 years).

I don't think anyone would stop you from doing yoga - many people got up and did stretches during the breaks. Start following your test day schedule a few days to a week before the exam - go to bed and get up at the time you would on exam day, do everything as you would on the day except obviously take the exam. Use that time to study or doing something productive. See if you can replicate the real test environment as closely as possible (schedule, complete quiet, timing and breaks) while doing full practice sets as a form of "exposure therapy"

Great Idea! I started taking melatonin last night also. I test on the 16th so I'm going to start NOW.
Thanks brotha

Have you taken melatonin before already? I would like to take melatonin to help me sleep well closer to my test date, but I've never taken it before and am worried about possible side effects.

I started taking it two nights ago. It helps me sleep through the entire night without waking up (I usually wake up at least twice to pee). Only side effects I had was dizziness but I'm sure it was because I was sleepy. If I were you, I'd try half dose. I go the liquid kind that you put in your drink so I slowly ingested it.
