I am signed up to take the MCAT this weekend. I have a previous post stating my stats and I basically decided I should wait. the problem was that it was too late to get my money back and I have heard that in that case you should just go and take it then void it. I just want to make sure this is ok...i haven't taken any of the AAMC b/c i've had finals and since i basically already decided I would void. Now that I am thinking about it might be a good idea to take one just in case, but b/c i know that i am overall not ready i think maybe i shouldnt waste it. ADVICE PLEASE! And someone please confirm that it's ok to go take it and then void it. Thank you!!

If you cant get money back go take it and void it... just make sure at the very end, when you are mentally and physically drained, that you move the little mouse over to the VOID and not SCORE option.... youd be surprised at how nervous you get about clicking a button lol

Theres very little you can do now. Use it as an expensive full length.

OP already knows he should void. He's asking if he should take the scored AAMC to see if there's a random chance he could do well..

Advice: if you know you're not ready, then you're not ready, no matter what the scored FL said. Maybe you would score a 510, but that means when you ARE ready, you'll do even better. Take the scored a couple weeks before your actual MCAT that you're not going to void.

The best advice is to not waste the one scored fullength available to you if you are planning on voiding and don't feel as prepared as you would like.

It's possible you'll never feel "ready" for a test like this though - but in your case you've been focusing on other studies/finals for the past few weeks and not likely payed much attention to the MCAT.

Thank you all for the advice! I will hold off on taking and void it... but I also just wanted to make sure that voiding isn't going to somehow show up to med schools or anything. Does anyone know for sure?

This was already posted in another thread, reposting here for your peace of mind.

"Indication of a voided exam will be displayed in the MCAT Score Reporting System after the scheduled score release date, but your decision to void an exam is not released to any medical schools."

So, you'll be able to see it but no one else will.

GL with your remaining prep and test
