Which test should I take. I'm pretty sure I want to go to vet school. I guess I'm asking which looks better, the MCAT or the GRE? I heard the MCAT was harder but I've seen most people on here have taken the GRE.

Thanks

Most vet schools will only take the GRE. Some will take either one so it really depends on what school you want to attend (and how hard you want to study 🙂 ).

Also be aware that since most schools do not accept MCAT very few take it, and those that do score really high. The schools that do take MCAT will evaluate your MCAT against the "average applicant MCAT score." Which tends to be a higher percentile then the GRE average.

Why don't you just apply to medical school and forget about being a vet? Besides, you're only submitting yourself to insults from real docs. We have a saying about vets here in the state of tennessee. But I guess we need someone to perform cardio on "Road Kill."

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are joking. Otherwise, you would be one of the most ignorant "real docs" I have encountered. Surely, you could not seriously discount the difficulty of admittance into 1 of 28 U.S. Veterinary Colleges, the post degree 1 year internship , the 3 years of residency needed for specialization and last but not least the contributions of veterinarians to the advancement of human medicine and research. Since you have a "real" education, I will assume you are merely a jokester with bad taste

Whatever, check out his sidebar, it says "Banned for trolling." I suggest we ignore his comment because a) it's obvious that he isn't a real doc or a real human and b) as an orange-blooded Tennessean myself, I know that there is a LOT of respect for veterinarians there.

As for the OP's question, unless your school has some specific req for the MCAT, go for the GRE. It is quite a bit easier and much less time consuming and accepted by all US vet schools.
