Medical MCAT was lower than I hoped. Should I take a gap year or apply this cycle?

Hi. I tested for the MCAT in June and realized I was not going to do well and voided my score. I prepared for another month and took it late July I just received my score. I made a 497. I was hoping for at least a 505 and I felt good about the exam. I have already submitted my primary application through AMCAS and received a few secondaries but I am not sure whether these schools have screened.

I am a traditional student. I have a GPA of 3.66. and 3.4 science GPA. I have done a surgical pre-med internship for 3 months and I have more than 300 hours of shadowing. I am also currently a patient care technician. I am a URM. I just feel so lost and I don't know I was thinking of applying to DO schools. Is it worth it to do the secondaries for the MD schools that have already sent theirs? I really thought I did well to at least make a 505. Do I have any chance with my extracurriculars and GPA even for a low tier school?

My breakdown for my score was 123/125/125/124. My AAMC FL gave me so much hope. On the FL3 I made a 502 and I thought I might go higher on the actual thing. 🙁
What community do you represent? And please don't say "The Bronx".

With a 497, I can't recommend applying.

I am Egyptian. So do you think its best to do the secondaries and give it a try or should I withdraw my application? Do you think I would have any chance with DO schools?
DO schools don't consider themselves to be consolation prizes for medical school applicants. Have you shadowed DOs and talked with medical students at DO schools?

If you have money to burn, fill out the secondaries to schools that you think best fit their educational mission. Otherwise I think you may want to suspend if you haven't already talked with schools where you have networked before applying.

1) No. If your Primary AMCAS application is not yet verified, you can withdraw your application and get all the money back except the base price to apply to one school.

2) From what you've shared about your application, not for MD.
