Would there be any benefit/is it possible for one to take actual MCAT exams at the dates prior to the one you have initially chosen (by voiding them). So basically I plan on taking my MCAT in April but want to take the Jan & March ones. Will adcom see my voids? Besides the money factor, would you do it? I know you cant assess how well you did but just to see the type of content on the MCAT(although it is changed test to test but just how drastically?)

Thanks

Sure you could do it if you don't care about wasting 270 bucks for each try.

haha, I your post title sounded sexual. I thought about this too! Technically you could study and use it as a practice test, and if you think you obliterated it, you could get it scored. so it's certainly a possibility.

You can only take it 3 times a year even if you void. And after you void you have to wait a couple days before you can sign up for your next test date.

The only benefit I see is maybe if you have extreme test anxiety so you can get used to the drive, the testing center, temperature, chairs and their overal procedure, etc. But if not, you're probably better off just paying for the AAMC practice exams because you wont even get feedback on your performance when you void.

Yeah i just read that the void DOES count as one. Darn. Guess Ill just go in once prior to mine and then the real one. Then just incase if i need to retake save one.

Thanks

I also thought the thread title was something sexual...

It's not quite the same, but the Prometric testing centers do allow you to sign up for a fake test. It won't be MCAT related at all, BUT if you have test anxiety or are a person who likes to know everything about the setup ahead of time, you can schedule the fake test thing, and you go in, see the center, see the computers, take a fake test about random silly crap (this is what I was told, I decided not to do it) and it might make you feel more comfortable just w/the testing center and the surroundings and what it's going to be like on test day. I think it costs $30 or something, so a LOT better price-wise.
