For those of you who used Exam Krackers, did you get one book that included everything, or did you get a different book for each subject?

Also, I'm not taking a prep class - just can't afford it. So, what is the better book to study: Kaplan or Princeton Review?

And, for those with 33+ on the mcat, what were your study habits/techniques/etc?

Thanks!

Exam Krackers was multiple books/subject. I got a 28, but that's b/c I suck ass on physics (my own genetic disability 🙂).

I looked over some other review books, but they looked just like my actual text books (although less illustrations and more visually difficult to read!). EK is a good fit for some people's style of learning- if you can, see if you can locate an image of a page from one of the books (maybe Amazon?)... they tell you exactly what you need to know and present it in a visually memorable style- like a kids cartoon book!

Overall, I really liked using them. If I'd been using the other review books, I think I would have been discouraged enough (from lack understanding LOADS of material, overwhelming books) to decide to just become a nurse or something. No lie! Oh, and I only used the review books, didn't take a course. So if you're starting studying now, you'd probably do much better than a 28 anyway- I only studied for about a month.

Hope that helps!

what is tpr?

I got over a 33, however, I took princeton review. I gave my books to a friend who couldn't take the class, and she got way over 33. Haven't seen EK though, so I can't compair the two. As a past mcat teacher, I can tell you that TPR verbal book is heavy on techniques and exercises, and the science books cover any and all material that has ever been on the mcat and is projected to be on the mcat. I think its precise and concise. However, I've never used EK.

I used EK, loved them...However, every one on this thing will tell you that they loved the company they studied from, and so take a look at the books and then decide which set (kaplan, TPR, EK) is best for you. I tried using kaplan, and it didnt do anything for me. Goodluck.
