Hey guys,

I just got my MCAT scores out today, it was my first time. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.9, science GPA 4.0 biomedical science major. I got my MCAT back and it was 22S total bummer. (9PS, 5VR, 8BS). What are my chances for getting in an MD school in US? OR should I just take it again????? I heard texas school are pretty less competitive to get in.. Please advise

With that MCAT, MD (and pretty much all DO) schools in the US are out of the question. Did you take any practice exams before the MCAT? If not, you should take a few, find your weak areas, and do some studying in that area before you take the MCAT again.

If you are fluent in Spanish and have ties to Puerto Rico, you might have a shot at an MD acceptance at one of their schools (which are accredited the same as the mainland schools). Baring that possibility, you would be obliged to retake to raise your VS, whether applying through TMDSAS or AMCAS.

Not really. If you're not a Texas resident they are very competitive.

Sit out this season, study for the MCAT, and apply next year. With your high science GPA and biology degree, you should have the knowledge to do much better on the science sections.
