Has anyone received an interview invite from MCG for reg. decision? if so when did you submit, get processed

I just interviewed for EDP last week. Last year, I think that regular interviews started in November, but I'm not quite sure. So don't worry!

I interviewed last Wednesday and the people were great. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I really love MCG and I hope that I hear good news from them! Who did you interview with?

I interviewed with Dr. Mary Hughes (neurologist) and Dr. Paul Dainer (hematologist/oncologist). Good experiences and we'll see what happens!

Congrats on the interviews!!! 😀 Hopefully I'll get one soon...my committee LORs should be sent in a few weeks. It's good to hear things aren't too stressful. 👍

Okay folks, I'm getting more than a bit nervous now. I am waiting to hear of an interview for EDP. My AMCAS application was processed by mid July and I had all of my secondary forms turned in by the end of July. I talked to an office staff last week about interview invitations, and she said the latest notice of an EDP interview via email would be mid September. Well, mid Sept is coming up and still no news. I'm beginning to look into other schools now in case my file gets booted to the Regular Decision pile. 🙁

Do any of you guys have news, good/bad?

Don't give up yet! All EDPs had to have all of their stuff, including personal recommendations, in by Sept. 1. Good luck and don't give up hope.

I have a daughter at MCG.

If you are not a resident of Georgia, you will need some special circumstances to get in. In the last 4 years I think only 2 out of state applicants have been admitted. Many state schools are like this as they want new physicians who will practice in the state that provides a large portion of funding through taxes. They want applicants that are more likely to stay in the state where they are trained.

This not necessarily "fair" to all applicants but it is a fact of life.

don't panic just yet!! hang in there, and relax. I was really surprised earlier this year when I was watching these threads. so many ppl were still interviewing and getting acceptances well into the start of orientation for this years class (class of '08). I thought some of the interviews were for the class of '09 but they were still inviting for class of '08, so just chill out and just hang on in there. I know it's easier said than done, but what's going to change by you worrying? NOTHING WHAT SO EVER!!! Good luck to everyone and I hope you get what you are looking for!! 😉

P.S. the point was that you are still early in the ballgame. they will be calling ppl for acceptances and interviews all the way into '05 so smile and look up.

I GOT ACCEPTED TO MCG!! Im in TOTAL shock right now!! I hope everything goes well for all of you 😀 😀 😀

I took the MCAT in August and won't have my LORs in until mid-October. I'm sure I won't hear from them for awhile... I heard that there were 600 EDPs, but that is just a rumor.

I was at MCG for the white coat ceremony and the admissions people indicated an increase of over 30% applying for admissions this year over last.

The other thing they talked about that was an eye opener was that even though you come in having been ranked very high in your class, the cruel math is that 50% of the class will be in the lower 50%. The retention rate through graduaton is 98%.

They take 180 with no more that 2 from out of state.

wow, that seems like a whole lot. They could almost fill their class if they wanted to. Of course they won't though. Well at least they are getting done with their edp so that us regular decision kids can get a chance
