Hi, anybody have an opinion over which might be a better pick? MCP vs. EVMS? Just want to hear some opinions if you have them...

:-D Of course, you know I'm going to say EVMS.
I dunno about MCP all that much (despite the fact that I *did* apply there, but that was mostly cuz it was in Penn and not too far from home). Anyhoo... I have heard that MCP is in less than a desirable area. And if I'm not getting my schools confused, I liked the fact that MCP lets you choose what sort of curriculum (PBL, etc) that you will have. And oh! Wasn't there something about a seperate Humanities in medicine track or something like that?
But EVMS still rocks. 🙂

At MCP, I remember that the school itself is in a very nice residential section of the city. Of course, the hospitals are downtown, but that's true of just about anywhere. The only downside was that you had to drive or take a shuttle bus to get from the school to the hospitals. Also, they do have two separate learning tracks, however, the problem-based track is only available to a limited number of students and I heard that it was pretty competitive getting into it. But as far as which I would pick, I liked Norfolk, however I prefer the school at MCP. Maybe I can't resist all the high tech stuff.

as a philadelphia native, anath you might be getting mcphu mixed up with temple (in a really, REALLY bad neighborhood). MCP is actually in East Falls, one of my phavorite philly areas. There are a bunch of bars and such in nearby manayunk, and you're right down the road from biking/running/blading/rowing on kelly drive.
i dont imagine the commute to those downtown hospitals being THAT big of a deal, since they're in center city and SEPTA (philly's public transit system) can get you there fairly easily. I dont know anything about the other school, but i just wanted to clarify the mcp thing.
