Hi,

So I'm really interested in the MCPH worcester accelerated PharmD program. But I really need help. I got an associates degree from a community college when I was in high school with a collective GPA of 3.78 (My lowest grades were Statistics- B+ and American History- B- (but a 4 on APUS), everything else is A's)

So ovr the next two years I will be taking (at WPI, a pretty good school) Chemistry, biology, microbiology, and economics.

Now my question is, can I sort of insure acceptance with those credentials. I completed all the humanities and the physics and math requirements at a community college (I have A- in physics 1 and 2, and an A+ in Calculus)
I'm worried that because I completed those credits at a community college that they would kind of look down on them. (I'm assuming the fact that I completed them in high schoold oesnt matter)

So what do you think? I took alot of good humanities courses- above the ones that are required (such as abnormal psych, social relations, juvenile delinquency, speech, philosophy, etc...).

THANKS!!

Your GPA sounds good to me. So does your course load. I've been told that taking classes at a CC doesn't make a difference, and I hope that's true. That's where I am doing all my pre-reqs. A hell of a lot cheaper and the schedule is so much more flexible.

Good luck!

Alright thanks.
Has anyone here attended MCPHS? What were your stats?
Also, I'm thinking of getting a B.S in biology and biotech to help improve my chances of being accepted. Do you think it's worth it?

Thanks

I just went in to discuss pre-reqs with the Manchester satellite campus of their acc. PharmD program and was explicitly told that they prefer pre-reqs done at 4yr institutions, especially the higher lvl chem and math courses. They didn't mandate it but it was made clear to me that CC was frowned upon (which I disagree with). Also, this is stated on their admissions page online.

Best of luck.

Yikes! That will narrow down where I plan on applying. I am going to have to look into this more...

I'm a little confused. Do you mean for MCPHS? because their acc program is in worcester

The Worcester acc program has a sattelite campus in Manchester, NH. It's currently the only pharmacy school in NH (sad face).
