Hi everyone! I was recently accepted into both MCPHS and Salus/PCO for optometry. I am a Canadian student living on the West Coast, so this will be a big move for me! I am trying to decide between these schools, and would love to get some input from current students or anyone who knows more about these schools. Both seem like great options, and I felt quite welcome at each school. Flying out to each school takes roughly the same time as well, so it's getting tough to decide. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!!

Personally, I would choose Salus/PCO because it's a more established school and they have some 4th year rotation sites in Canada (I remember they mentioned Vancouver being one of the options for rotation). I've also worked with optometrists that graduated from Salus/PCO that came back to Canada to practice and they are excellent doctors.

Congrats! May I ask what your stats are? Where ever you do go, make sure it is the one you see your self at for the next couple of years, feel comfortable/at home, and really wowed you with what they have to offer depending on what you personally sought out for. Any school you pick, you will become a great optometrist.

@optomcand congratulations on your acceptance. Did you apply to Waterloo? Curious why this isn't on your short list.
No I did not apply there, as I know they only accept 1 or 2 people from BC each year, and I wasn’t sure of how competitive I would be. I’m also considering the Western University of Health Sciences in California, as I recently interviewed with them. Still not sure on what my final decision is though, so if anyone has any advice that would be much appreciated!
