I had an interview this past Wednesday and don't think it went well, I like the school and it is definitely one of my top choices but the interviewer that I had really kept pressing on my grades, I gave her my explanation but it didn't seem like she was satisfied with my answer and wanted more details about every class that was below a B-, which I had several. I didn't know the answer she really wanted because I planned how to explain my poor grades out in advance. But I reassured her that my undergrad grads did not express my current determination or drive to succeed. And that I have proven that by doing a year of post bacc and completing a MS in bio program. But she seemed like she still wasn't satisfied 🙁. I kept my composure and continued with the rest of the interview. I just hope I get accepted. All I know was I tried my best, I can't change my past and don't regret it because it made me the person I am today and I'm proud that.

post bacc and an MS!? you're fine!

I got flat out rejected today through mail. But one of the keys to success is to keep pushing on! I wish everyone else the best of luck!

Hi,
Congrats to all who already got accepted and good luck to others. I submitted my pharmcas 9/4 (mailed on 9/26) and completed supplement app on 9/8. I have not heard from them yet. Has anybody else with similar dates got an invite? I'm really starting to freak out. And also should I call them to get an update on my status or is it too early? Any help will be appreciated.

i've been secretly following your posts and it obvious you want this real bad and have been putting your all into it. all you need is to get that one interview and im sure you will impress them.

thanks. this is a small defeat, but I've got other schools too. Hoping for the best😉

Congratulations!! I had to cancel my interview on monday due to the monster storm on the way - but I hope to have good news like you once I do!

My interview is on Friday and I'm flying there on Thursday. Should I reschedule?? I'm worried about the storm but that's the only time I can get there.. So when is your interview date?

Nah - no concern for Friday. Definitely keep your date. Best of luck! Mine is tomorrow morning - when the storm is about to hit...lol. Terrible timing. I'm hoping to reschedule for thursday.

Can anyone please tell me how long their supplemental essay answers were for each of the questions. They did not really provide a minimum or max. Just wanted to know what would be a good word count.

I did about two paragraphs for each, just make sure u cover everything that you need to. I'm sure they didn't put a limit on there for a reason.

I was accepted into MCPHS and Sullivan Univeristy and after weighing out the pros and the cons I decided that I will be declining MCPHS Worcester acceptance offer and will be attending Sullivan University instead good luck to all hope one of you gets my seat.

Thank you, this is helpful. Also, the question to the first question is kind of like the personal statement on PharmCas.

2 paragraphs each!? the most i wrote for a single response was 4 sentences.

Yeah it's pretty similar but try not to repeat your pharmcas, I made new qualities for being a pharmacist because I already described them on my personal statement. The next paragraph I talked about the school.

Yeah, I had a lot to talk about that I didn't address in my pharmcas like my many C's, 3 D's and an F. Since my stats from undergrad wasn't so good I had to justify why I got them and how I grew as an individual and learned from my mistake. I wanted to be safe than sorry. But to each his own.

I wish I had 3 D's and an F. I had 6 and 5, respectively.

the essay topics are easy and straight forward. i noticed that asking alot of questions during the tour made the one-on-one interview much less stressful. in fact, mine was extremely casual. it lasted about 45 minutes. the first 10 minutes talking about the curriculum and community service opportunities, next 10 minutes answering why pharmacy? why mcphs? when did i know that pharmacy for me, last 25 minutes just chopping it up about the city , giving me the opportunity to ask questions (i asked alot). it seemed like a conversation rather than an interrogation. by the end of it the interview, my interviewer was giving me advice as to what sites i can see while im here such as the art museum which is incredible and amazing restaurants on shrewsbury street.

Did they ask you why pharmacy and when did you know that pharmacy is for you separately? because I would consider these two questions the same..😕
I really hope that they ask simple questions to me on my interview.

GUYS!!!

I interviewed 10/22 and it was great.
I love it so much and they really do make you feel like you belong there.

I received a packet 10/29 and I have been ACCEPTED! 😀

I'm super excited!

I filled out the enrollment form and the on-campus housing.
Is anyone else living on campus?
Has anyone heard about their scholarship application?

Congrats to all who got in already!
And I wish lots of good luck to anyone interviewing or applying to another school!

Had my interview today...it was great! Like all the others have stated, everyone there is so nice and they make the interview process painless. I will answer the survey in the feedback section, but I'll be happy to answer any questions. Good luck to everyone!!

@ pharmacyrx90

So sorry to hear that.

I applied here too and completed my supp probably the same week you did. I don't have that great of stats either. If it is not too much to ask, would you mind PM me and share with me your stats. In this way, I also can prepare for the worst?

It's frustrating I know, but hang in there!

Thanks!

When did you apply? Has PharmCas verified your GPA and sent your app?

Well my worst nightmare has come true. I received a letter today stating my application is on hold until my Fall 2012 grades are in. I really don't know what to make of it. Anyone with a similar issue and survived? Please share some advice! Thanks!

Just curious, but why would they want to put an application on hold because they don't have your fall 2012 grades? Wouldn't they have to put everyone's application on hold then?

Yep. That's what I would think. It's probably because my application was not strong enough. It's ok. I just didn't know what to make of it. I contacted them for further clarifications and they said they will reevaluate my application. All the best to everyone 🙂

Everything will fall into place, don't worry. Good luck, and stay optimistic

yes they have and i applyed on october 26th thats when pharmcas mailed my stuff
OK. Well, this is still a very short time span to hear a response. I applied on August 26th to PharmCas, they sent my app on 9/6....I got my interview invite in the second week of October. It was a 6 week process that early on, so I would expect you may have to wait a bit longer than that now that they are well into the cycle.

Don't lose hope just yet and good luck!

You submitted your pharmcas on 8/26 and pharmcas mailed your app on 9/6? Wow, that was fast!

Yes - it was stil pretty early in the cycle....I had read a few posts on here that had them verified in 24-48 hours and sent in under 5 days! It's great in July and August - moves really quickly.

I am so thrilled to say I received my acceptance package today in the mail! I cannot believe I can say I'm accepted to Pharm school....too exciting!

Best of luck to all the others still applying and interviewing and I hope to see many of you in Fall 2013!

Woohoo!

Thank you so much! Yes...it's my top choice. I still have an interview with University of Buffalo that I scheduled with airfare, so I have to go - but more than likely I will attend MCPHS. How about you?

Will you live on campus?

Yeah, I decided that its probably best to live on campus my first year and then get an apartment my second year.. What about you?

For those living on campus, has you decided if you will live on foster or lincoln? Also, will we be required to leave during the holidays and go home?

Foster here, I believe we would be able to stay during the holidays. I didn't get a chance to ask. Where are you deciding to live? 🙂
