Hey guys,
Don't worry!!! You got past the hurdle which is getting an interview invite. The way I see it, at this point, they already like what you put on paper and you are qualified, so that means there's only one thing left: they need to make sure that you actually are a real person and have the personality and drive needed to be a pharmacist. So, this interview is open file which means they have already read your personal statement and know about what you sent them. They will ask you very generic questions like why pharmacy, etc. To prepare for this interview, I just looked over my personal statement again and my MCPHS supplemental essays, then I checked out the interview feedback section on here and looked over some of the questions that people posted on there. That was literally all I needed to succeed in my interview. As for the writing part, it's very easy; they are just trying to see if you can write, spell, and use grammar correctly. They give you 30 min to write about a page or so. Please dress professionally. That means no cleavage, no short skirts, no shorts, no sandals, no too much makeup or jewelry, no jeans, no tshirts, etc. If you have specific questions about that, just pm me. The whole thing takes about 3 hours or so. You're not with a group. Typically, you'll write your essay, then you do your interview, then you get a tour of the school, then you speak to an admissions counselor. Have some questions prepared about the program that are not easily answerable on their website. Look up some stuff too about them that you like so that you can tell them why you want to go to MCPHS.
I also flew in from Cali, but stayed in Boston with some friends and drove to Worcester (about an hr drive). If you're doing that too, give yourself plenty of time, because driving in Mass is very confusing and unclear when compared to Cali. There are a lot of one-way roads, and you have to pay toll fees for almost every highway, so have plenty of dollar bills and change with you. Also, if you're driving, getting a GPS will come in very handy.
Again, don't worry about the other applicants. They already like you, which is why you were invited to the interview. So, all you have to do now is show them how great you are in person! Just be yourself 🙂
If you guys have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Good luck!
