Brian's on my track. We evaluated each other's concept maps today. *chills*

my lab group was pretty tight at the time, we watched out for each other and had lots of fun. some of the best memories from first year are in lab, despite my pretty strong dislike of gross anatomy lab. the group can really make it, as people have said. We're all still pretty good friends but it's not like we're inseparable. My fellow officer for the emergency medicine organization was also in my group, so that was convenient for discussing other things while we picked apart muscles.

this is reminding me of how i sorta went through the last block of anatomy in a daze, and I don't remember anything south of the pelvis.

Don't forget about Marty.

I was one of the misfits in my group. I did a lot of the dissection though.

yeah, i was definitely the lazy one.

Marty was the one that sneezed funny and generally made weird faces when ripping muscles away. I miss Marty. i'm glad he's gone to a better place, but i think we all feel a little weaker without him. if only we could search a tad deeper into our hearts, we'd probably be strong again.

Yeah, better place meaning the Reserve where he can come release his endless anxiety upon me?

are there lots of single guys at MCW? i dont' really want to get a boyfriend or anything but i'm interested in dating some smart guys.

sorry, that mighta come off a bit too forward. i guess i'm just wondering what the "love life" is like at school between students?

I'm not sure what to tell you. There were a few breakups with boyfriends/girlfriends back home at the beginning of the year and now a few couples obviously sitting together, but in general, people are pretty discreet, or else I'm pretty oblivious.

that does sound like high school, except for the discreet part!!! lol
i remember in high school people were making out in the halls almost

People get together when they party. There seems to be a fair amount of regret when that happens but it doesn't get too dramatic since people have things to do. There are also people who date and do the normal thing. I think dating someone who isn't in your class might work better but anything is possible.

Be prepared to lower your standards. 👍 It is the key to happiness.

are you single? your pretty funny

There are at least two marriages that have happened/are going to happen soon in our class.

Med school tends to be a lot like high school. Except for the whole making out in the halls thing. Most people stick to nerd rooms for that.

wow....

just...WOW. Bamboozed, you might want to not worry about that stuff so much right now. Just enjoy whatever free time you have left, then focus on just getting into the groove of med school and making some good friends before you try to get involved with anyone. If it's meant to be it'll happen. Otherwise, just enjoy socializing in a healthy manner and remember that med school is very hard without some good friendships. So just enjoy them and don't stress out about school AND finding a studmuffin.

While I'm sad that I've only got one day of classes left in undergrad (and 2 easy finals), I just got extremely excited that in less than 4 months I'll be in med school.

Brrrr....did it just get chilly in here?

ha it must be! i looked at your weather and it is cold and rainny there. is it always like that in milwaukee in april? i'm afraid i'll have to leave all my cute spring dresses in the closet 🙁 👎 :scared:

No, you don't. You just wear them in summer.

Yeah, cold and rainy is pretty much the order of the day here in April...with the occaisonal beautiful, sunny, 70 degree day with a light breeze that invariably comes the weekend before an exam and makes it impossible to study.

and one year from now, you'll be like "Hmmm, last year was a LOT more fun at this time...."

One of the other few Old Navy commercials where you liked the song was when they used "Hustle" right?

that song is dead to me now, you understand?? DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and one year from now, you'll be like "Hmmm, last year was a LOT more fun at this time...."

Ironically enough, you'll be thinking the same thing yourself next year.

But third year, you will be thinking the exact opposite. Same goes for fourth.

speaking of lights at the ends of tunnels, it is supposed to be in the 70s this weekend!

Sun, yay! Unfortunately, I will be spending the weekend holed up in the library relearning everything there is to know about pharmacology, all in a desperate bid to retain my non-honors grade after the final! Wheeee, 2nd year!

Are you going to have to do much studying for pharm for step I then?

Word on the street from those who have come before us is that after our horrific pharm final most of us won't have to put more than a day or so into studying pharm for Step 1. Thanks for the reminder that there's always a silver lining. 😉

Good. I can spend my time studying ethics. I've missed every ethics question I've attempted so far.

The word on the street is correct. Keep in mind, though, that pharm questions for step 1 are a completely different format than our pharm tests. Reason #1 to do every practice question you can get your hands on. (Yes, I mean 100 % of QBank.)

Yup, Yup, Yup!!!

Don, is it weird that I feel smarter/validated when you agree with me? 😀

ahhh, killing time over my lunch break in my EMT refresher course. the class is too small for me to sleep and not be completely obvious. 🙁 I have attended more than my fair share of class in life. wish I could just take a test for this and skip all those classes too.

your an EMT guy? that's sooo cool!! 😍 i bet you see some really nasty things

Splat's also an EMT (with a higher level of training). 👍

I was an EMT until my cert lapsed at the end of March. Not only that, but I never had a single patient die on me or their condition even get worse. Oh, and I never once got blood on me.

I'm married though ladies, so hands off.

Lay off, I have a fan club. I have more experience in the 'hood than he does, I'm sure.

If by "hood" you mean swamp, then I bet Splat has much more experience than you.
