Hey guys. I was recently accepted to MCW and PCOM. I'm a PA resident that is interested in Anesthesiology, but am open to see what other specialties there are. I am having trouble deciding which one to choose, because I like being close to home with PCOM but I don't know how limited I'll be through DO. Especially since PCOM has their own in-house residencies. The price for both schools is relatively the same so that's not really a concern. I'm just struggling with the decision because Wisconsin is a long ways away from home and I don't know how much benefit I'll get going there over PCOM-Philly. Thank you guys. I have until April 15th to make a decision.

Match rate (by preferred specialty) into anesthesiology was 85% for MDs and 58% for DOs in 2024. If you can get an MD, you get the MD.

Go Central Wisconsin. Its 3 years and gets you where you want to be. I had the chance to visit Wisconsin (for the MKE campus) and LOVED the state. I would encourage you to visit it before you count it out for being too far away.
