Not only that, but they all have unbelievable legs. Yes, even the male drivers.

I want unbelievable legs. My calves look terrible, but I'm working on becoming the Quadzilla of squats.

hey, if I had to support some extra weight, I'd have great calves

Well, if that's the only way you can do it, eat up! Quite a few of my friends are dancers as a hobby so they have great calves. Jumping up and down without putting your heels down will do that.

My brother works for UPS actually!! He went to MSOE for 2 years. Hated it, and therefore didn't do well (probably vice versa too, even though he's pretty smart and had a scholarship originally). He moved home and became a morning loader. Been at it for ~2 years and is now 2nd or 3rd on the driver promotion waitlist. Saving a lot of money by living at home. I actually owe him money come to think of it...

UPS drivers can also usually retire fairly early.

could they feasibly pay off 2 years' worth of medical school debt?

Okay guys, here's a sample of the photos I took in Sunday night's storm. Considering I've never tried photographing lightning before I'm pretty happy. I was also surprised at how much more the sky lit up on film after the shutter had been open... I would keep it open for over a minute at times (by contrast a standard camera would probably flip the shutter open and closed in about 1/500 of a second on a sunny day)...so you're seeing a few bolts of lightning that occured probably within 20-30 seconds of each other. This was out by the TB sanitarium, where Swan Blvd passes over Hwy 45 near MCW.

There's a few other really cools ones too.

Not bad. I was fooling around with some strobe photography today, a little fruit, and some explosives. Let me know what you think.

Where and when was that funnel cloud picture taken?

Excellent photo Marc. I wish I could take pictures like that.

Thanks everybody!! I've always loved photography and I love to share it. I've let my camera sit around idle for too long since I started this whole premed/med student business 6 years ago.

Happy "F-It" Friday everyone! Only one lecture hour today (starting at the very sleep-friendly hour of 11:00) gives us M2s a chance to finally catch up on those lovely leukemia/lymphomas and all those "bacteria" I hear everyone talking about. 'Tis truly a beautiful day (at least until my softball team gets creamed again tonight).

Oh, and to all the M1s that haven't been scared off of this thread--good luck on the Block 2 exams. Believe it or not, once you sit down with exam in hand, they're not that bad.

So for you M2s in the independent study CER thing for October...what WOULD you say to the med student wearing the miniskirt and hoochie top when she sees patients?

"Uh, Be... put some clothes on. If you need, we have some stylish shmatas available."

Actually, the acting CER thing isn't that bad. You have to pretend to have symptoms for the first part of CER, then in small groups you practice the exams we've learned so far.

Same thing I tell you everyday: "Yo, trick, where's daddy's money?"

So, was that a funnel cloud or does that cloud have a styloid process?

only if there is a remote chance (and there ALWAYS is) of her hearing about it.

"Where do palates come from, Mommy?"

"Well, when a primary palate and two palatine processes love each other VERY MUCH..."

Our mouths are kinky. Who knew?

I loathe devo right now. I hate all you M2's who say "Oh, I only studied devo during breakfast before the exam," because I've spent the past two days studying, and I still got a f*cking 70% on the '96 practice exam.

An M3 at the Saturday clinic told me he just memorized the answers to the study questions. I don't think that cuts a whole lot out of the volume of material, though. And I JUST DON'T WANT to memorize the little parts that form the vertebrae. I'll probably watch MacBaby tomorrow at school and let the pretty cartoons show me the way.

Evil Devo.

Incidentally, while looking up something I've now forgotten about meroanencephaly, I found information on parents who chose to carry their anencephalic babies to term so they could hold them and say goodbye. I found it shocking at first and then very touching. It was a nice reminder that eventually we will not be studying Devo out of books but will be talking to real patients with real problems more urgent than the suckiness of studying Devo.

Doesn't make Devo suck any less, though.

Block 2 devo was my best exam in that class. It shouldn't be that bad in the end. actually, block 2 was my best round of exams for every exam first semester. I think I actually studied for those.

Boy, my fellow M2s really misled you on that one.

I took an unofficial poll of my class at the conclusion of fall semester last year, and 97.6% of the class indicated that they did not study for devo at all. The exam answers were simply placed (gently) in their minds by an angelic vision of one who called himself only "Marty".

Obviously, you heathens have been left out in the cold. Good luck with that.

And you knew you were going to receive the answers because you'd start hearing an angelic song before ... "Banana Phone."

where does that there primary palate come from anyway?

Didn't the M2 class cause the administration to tell us not to get drunk and throw chairs and stuff?

mmmmmmm.....pharyngeal arches.....😴

but what are you afraid of?

When a left and right nasal cavity develop and don't love each other very much (I'm trying to continue my silly palate/birds and bees metaphor, but it's not working very well), the space in between is the medial palatine process.

I am very sorry but your son Shawn died....shoot...wait ...no ...i mean shawn is fine ...its Brian that kicked the bucket...i mean died.

It was spelled SHAUN you insensitive prick.

Come on you guys. It was Sean. But Sean's not dead...I think. Wait, who are you? And where's Mrs. Smith? Damn... wrong room again.
