MCW Class of 2010, Part 3

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yeah, only 4"... I have a complex about being too tall as it is. I am from HI where most people are Asian and short.

Is that why people kept pointing at me and yelling "Rodzilla" when I visited Kauai last year?

[/Tasteless historic racial stereotype]

well, Marc, I think you're about ready for the ball. Congratulations. Now everyone can wait in suspense until Jan. to see how beautiful you will look.

i'm so excited.

anyways, i just vacummed my bathroom.

I think it's time for a nap now. Bye bye.

I think he still needs to think about make-up, but since I practically own a Lancome store, I can work with that.

sweet.

i'm gonna go scrub the floors like a good Cinderella.

Our little boy is all grown up. *sniffle*

Anyone know the cutoff between low pass and fail in Pathology? No real reason for asking...I'm just curious. I mean...I'm asking for a friend. :scared:

Yeah, should be interesting to see what the class average looks like on this last exam...

Probably even more interesting to see if any of us could describe leukemias/lymphomas to a non-med student in three sentences or less. 😉

If that's the same cutoff as last year, I failed the path final and the micro final.

Still passed both classes. I'm a rockstar.

I feel like I need to go out and buy myself a tux *right now*. (And it's not just an urge to avoid studying, I promise).
I just hope mine still fits. I'm about 20 pounds heavier than the last time I wore it.

imagine my surprise when I saw this thread grew two pages in a couple hours 😍

I always think they should give the preliminary average whenever they release the grades. Like before the class starts whining and they give back 30 questions or whatever.

Does describing leukemia to a 1st year count? I did that with my sister yesterday when she asked what they were; though, she at least knew they had something to do with bone marrow, and I tend to write really long sentences, but they still are grammatically correct.

We knew that already =)

You win. I tried describing them to my in-laws over the weekend, and was met with blank stares and the question: "I had a friend from high school that ended up owning a bar for 30 years and now he has bladder cancer. Can you get that from alcohol?"

My reply: "Hmm...sure. I dunno. Did he smoke too?"

Step 1, here I come.

Scottish Dancing has warped my fashion sense. I can't see a man in a tux and think he's dressed up. He's got pants on, for cryin' out loud. Where's his kilt? His hose? His flashes? His sporran with a nice little sporran flask tucked inside with just a little smooth single-malt Scotch?

Don't leave home without it!

Is it ok if I have a few minutes alone with the Scotch before I put on the rest of the girly-man giddup? 😉

I keed, I keed.

My brother wears his whole kilt ensemble, like on Christmas Eve, to church. Last year, one of our friends was like "Are you wearing a kilt?" David said, "Yeah, it's Christmas Eve." Like duh, everyone wears a kilt on Christmas Eve in Hawaii.

OH crap... we have touchy feely tuesday tomorrow.

oh goody. our ever-so-imaginative group leaders can bring us yet ANOTHER alcoholic. apparently no other psychiatric disorder exists.

oooooo.... so helpful for micro!

Question: What was the vector of transmission for the plague in 14th century Europe?

A. Yersinia Pestis
B. Fleas
C. Rodents
D. Ninjas

Answer: D

I thought the plague was caused by non-missionary position sex

Where do you guys get this stuff? More importantly, how much time is spent on youtube?

The saddest part of the day: I have, actually, already paid for the boards. Well, Mastercard has. I registered on the website like 1.5 months ago, then finally applied and paid for step 1 like 2-3 weeks ago. Still don't have a date set though cuz the school has to verify that you actually go to school and you have to get a 2x2 picture and fill out a form and stuff. As you can see, it takes me a while to get stuff done. So even though I started early, I will maybe, just maybe, have this taken care of by Thanksgiving.

While pathology has once again proved my stupidity, I'm now locked into taking the boards.

Is this something we all need to be doing? I was going to wait for the school people to tell us to register.

Probably not. I started it before that little session that Lance put on simply cuz I thought of it one day. We're really only competing with our own class for dates and location. No one else is gonna be driving to Milwaukee to take the exam unless they have to. M3s, any thoughts?

I should probably fill out that sheet before I lose it though. Might as well get it done since it's paid for.

I wouldn't worry.

When are you thinking about taking it? Since I'm going to Ed's wedding on June 16th, I figure I'll try to schedule it for sometime the week beforehand so I can enjoy myself that weekend. I know there are 3 or 4 other students who have their weddings the same day (Jodi D., Derrick W., and someone else I can't remember). I have a feeling a lot of students who will be guests at these classmates' weddings will have the same idea, so I hope there's not too big a push for that block of days.

Actually, that is the week I have in mind. Didn't realize all those weddings were going down on the 16th. I was thinking June 12. About 1 month after finals, but still vacation left. I wonder how many people the centers can accommodate on any given day.

where are the lecture audio files located on angel?

after today's lab session I can say with absolute certainty that I will never smoke.
