Hi all...I was wondering whether any of you have participated in the summer research program at MD Anderson in Houston. I was wanting to know some specifics abt the program e.g(any publications, did you like it, an avg day, etc.)

I spent a summer in the molecular biology department. It's really difficult to get published in just one summer since research worthy of publication takes a lot of time and effort, but my brother did manage to get his name on a publication but he was like 5th or 6th author. So I wouldnt go into it expecting a 1st of 2nd authorship.

The normal day was typically working 9-5. In between running experiments people usually sit and read journals and 1 time a week we would have a journal review. Once a month someone would present their research to the group. But of course this routine will vary between labs.

I really enjoyed my time there and learned a ton. MD Anderson is an amazing hospital and the TMC is equally if not even more impressive.

Only negative was the heat and the pay(stipend = broke).
