To past and current MD applicants with around 508 MCAT: How many schools did you apply to and how many interviews/acceptance did you guys get?

I just got my MCAT score today and got a 508 (126/126/126/130). I had been scoring 512+ on all of the AAMC materials, so I have been kinda bummed about my results all day, especially since I didn't do so well on C/P and B/B. My GPA is decent at 3.83 cumulative and 3.7 science, but I'm an ORM so I'm still doubtful of whether I should retake the MCAT. The only bright side is I live in Michigan which has several low/mid tier MD schools that I would be more comfortable applying to. I keep seeing that 510-511 is the average for matriculants these days, so I can't help but feel worried! Everything else about my app would be ok (clinical volunteering, research, scribing). Thanks in advance.

There are tables by race/ethnicity, but portion of URMs is too small to distort the data for 1000s white applicants, so you can use table above as reference, it is pretty accurate. The best thing how you should act from now is to craft a good list and not speculate about your chances as a ORM. With your stats you can get into plenty of MD schools (mostly Drexel/Albany class). Good luck!

Thanks so much! I would be perfectly happy with schools like that.

Doesn't your school premed advisor provide the stats (for those who applied from your school in previous cycles)?

I unfortunately do not have time to go to my premed office since I work a lot. Paying for applications and saving in case of interviews is rough.

If you aim for the Top 20 schools, rather retake it (unless you apply in-state - CA, TX, i.e. state schools favor in-state applicants).

I'm definitely not going for even t30 lol. I would prefer to stay in state and would be extremely happy if I can get into MSU, Wayne State, etc. type schools! Any MD program tbh
