Just wondering if I could get some advice as to which schools I should apply to this cycle.

cGPA: 3.52, sGPA: 3.3, oregon resident, Biology and Economics Major, Currently still waiting on my MCAT scores. I plan that they'll be around the 27-30 range.

Extracurriculars:
Volunteered in Guatemala in a underserved hospital (2 weeks for spring break)
Varsity/Club athlete
Full time genetics/cell bio research this summer
RA (Resident Assistant) for a year
Economics Research (also this summer)
Emergency room Volunteer (100 hrs)
Treasurer and Philanthropy chair of my fraternity
Eagle Scout
Shadowed 3 MD primary care physicians, 1 MD anesthesiologist, and 1 MD allergist (40 hrs total)
Eagle Scout
Volunteer with elementary school kids (75 hrs)
Interned with an occupational nurse (1 summer)
Dance performances for school (3 semesters)

Thanks for all your help!

Depends completely on the mcat. You gpa is alright and your EC's pretty amazing and research heavy.
If you get between 22-26. You should apply only to DO schools, probably around 15.
27-30.. you should apply to 20 MD and 10 DO.
31-35... You should apply to 15 MD and 8 DO.
35+.... Apply to 15 MD and 5 DO.

That's my opinion at least. You should also pay heed to the fact that by the time you get your mcat and get verified it'll be a lot later into the application season.

can u give me specifics as to which schools I should apply to if I get a score from 27-30? Are my extracurriculars that great? I assumed that med school applicants do a ton of research before they even apply.

Your clinical experience looks fine, with nice variety. You shadowing is on the light side and could be further improved. Two research experiences that just began this summer would not be much regarded. Your intercollegiate sport, artistic invovlement in dance, leadership, and nonmedical community service are all good.

Keeping in mind that with your cGPA, an MCAT of 32+ would markedly improve your chances of an acceptance to an MD school, but assuming a 3.52/30, some allopathic schools with decent OOS acceptance rates you might research for "fit" besides your state school might be:

UIllinois, Wayne, Buffalo, Toledo, Drexel, Temple, Vermont, VCU, Virginia Tech Carilion (new),
GWU, FIU, Louisville, Tulane, , NYMC, MUSC, SCarolina, EVMS,
Rush, Michigan State, Oakland (new),
Commonweath MC (PA).

For DO schools, take your pick, as even with a 25-26 MCAT score, you'd be competitive at many of them, but most particularly you should apply to the new one opening in your state Western University Northwest in Lebanon.

Good question
