Are there niches for physicians in various fields? like sports? such as working for things like anti-doping agencies? Maybe things like muscle development or nutrition?
Or maybe running clinical trials and seeing the effects that new drugs have? Anything else?

Yes physicians are pretty much involved in some level in all of the things that you have mentioned. That is what is so wonderful about becoming a physician. The job prospects are endless!

I agree; however, these types of opportunities, and most non-clinical careers for physicians, are not well communicated or endorsed in medical school. So, if you're interested in a career that doesn't fit the norm, just be sure you are very proactive from early on in exploring the options, finding mentors, talking to physicians in positions that interest you, and figuring out ways to get involved in organizations related to your goals or that will provide you with skills that may help advance your career.
