  • Graduated in 2015 (B.S. in Chemistry, B.S. in Microbiology, ACS certified) from Florida
  • cGPA/sGPA 3.53/3.67 , super strong upward trend, my 1st year I had a 1.53 GPA if that gives you an idea

  • MCAT Score 518 (C/P: 130, CARS: 129, B/B: 131, P/S: 128)

  • Research 2 semesters in analytical lab. Working there full time now for about a year and will continue this year as well. No research publications yet, however worked on three high impact papers, one of which I will first author. 2 of them collaborations with big pharmaceutical companies that will be published soon. Do have clinical research experience with actual patient samples.

  • Volunteering (clinical) around 80hr

  • Physician shadowing 16hr, two specialties

  • Non-clinical volunteering with high school and middle school students. Science fair judge, demonstration chemist for lab, worked with women in science initiatives, tutored at-risk college students, UGTA for university for at-risk kids
  • Extracurricular activities, Tutor for my school in chem and bio since sophomore, tutored at-risk and low-income kids, worked in health science library assisting physicians and students

  • Employment history Tutor at school for 3 years, worked in health science library for 1 year, fulltime during my senior year, full time researcher now.

  • Special circumstances: applied disadvantaged, spent high school in foster care, abusive alcoholic parent. Got FAP. Went to CC for first two years.
  • primary verified 8/27 complete everywhere by 9/30
  • LOR-1 science professor, 1 from PI, 1 from lab postdoc, 1 from former employer, 1 from CC teacher, 1 from nurse
  • Applied list (Top heavy, I know now)

Disappointed as in you've received no IIs?

I think it's still too early probably for me to receive II being that I just submitted so I don't know if I would say I'm disappointed. I guess a reality check on my chances is what I'm looking for.

Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification is not. No applicant is God's gift to medical schools, also you'd think so from some of the posts in these fora.

I would add more fully funded (but not necessarily MSTP), mid to low tier MD PhD programs. Your list is extremely top heavy and my understanding is that in state preference is pretty nonexistent in MD PhD admissions.

edit: Remembered that you are likely economically disadvantaged (per FAP). I still think a few well selected lower tier schools would be worth adding to increase your chances of success this cycle.
