MD/PhD in psych & human imaging

I recently became aware of an MD/PhD program which combines a psychiatry residency with a PhD in Human Imaging Research. The idea is new to me. I was hoping someone could explain what such a program would entail, and what kind of career options one would have after completion of such a program. Any thoughts?
