This is the list of DOs I’m thinking of applying to. Are there any high ranking/good schools that accept OOS (Utah resident) that I’m missing, or any problems with that you know of with the schools on the list?

c3.65 GPA and currently waiting on MCAT score but averaged 510 on AAMC tests so I should be above average for those schools (with exception of Chicago COM and DMU COM) even if I drop a few points on my actual score. ECs are a solid mix.

More so just wanting to research which DO schools are good to apply to, and have a good curriculum/staff as well as opportunity for M3/4 rotations.

AT-Still Mesa
Chicago COM
Philadelphia COM
LECOM
NYITCOM-Long Island
Touro NY COM Middletown
Rocky Vista COM Denver
Kansas City COM
Des Moines COM
Marian COM

NOORDA is is Utah. I know they're new, but it could be a good one to apply to to get an easy-ish A.

Hey everyone! I just got my MCAT score back so wanted to post to double check my school list before I send in applications. My primary is already verified. I’ve sent in the DO aps and am working on their secondaries currently.
cGPA: 3.63 (had a C in anatomy and a biochemistry course which brought my GPA down significantly. This last semester was a 3.85.)

sGPA (MD): 3.61

sGPA (DO): 3.57

MCAT: 510

Major: Human Biology (recently switched from biochemistry)

Minor: Chemistry

EC's:
  • 540 hours as an MA, 5 months (paid)
  • 900 hours as a CNA/Med tech, 8 months (paid)
  • 800 hours of laboratory tech over 8 months (paid)
  • 200 hours of student orientation leader over 1 year (paid)
  • 150 hours of undergraduate teaching assistant over 1 year (paid)
  • 50 hours helping to teach student orientation class over 4 months (paid)
  • 50 hours completed of 250 hours committed to Hospital OR volunteer over 5 months.
  • 60 hours of volunteering at high school helping struggling students, 6 months.
  • LDS mission for 5 months (normally 2 years but came home for health issues.) Probably will count 3 hours of service a day for 5 months so around 750 hours.
  • Received a competitive undergraduate research grant that allowed me to do my own research. I probably wont be able to publish, but that is still up in the air right now.
  • Helped start the mental health section of my schools pre-med club 50 hours over 6 months.
  • Only 10 hours of shadowing but another 40 that I will update schools on later in the summer.
  • Working at a BBQ restaurant. 1000 hours over 6 months. Had a lot of interaction with people, I was the one that cut the meat.

You could add these MD schools to your application:
TCU-UNT
Creighton
NOVA MD
Virginia Commonwealth
Jefferson
Oakland Beaumont
Loyola
Remove U Wisconsin since they admit few non residents with your stats and no connection to the state.

Is TCU through AMCAS or TMDSAS? Would you suggest applying to more MD or broadening my DO list?

Add the MD schools I listed. You have enough DO schools on your initial list but you could add TUNCOM, AZCOM, MU-COM
