I have read that some students can/decide to apply for the MSTP program at their university after the first year of medical school. In regards to this change in career path, I was curious about people's experiences with and reasons for such a move and its consequences.
***As one little sidenote, I have been reading over this forum for a week now and I am truly impressed by people's willingness to share their knowledge, their fears, and their hopes for themselves and others of similar interest. In spite of the somewhat myopic rants that sometimes plague these pages, I must thank you for answering my explicit questions, addressing the questions I had not yet considered, and providing a vague, but nonetheless powerful sense of electronic fraternity.***
