From what I have seen presently, as equals unless you are some of the old school docs or some of the IMGs. In the future, this equality will be even more evident. Only time will tell!

When I talked to the DO at my hospital, he gave the impression that they are becoming very widely accepted, especially in larger cities with more progressive care markets. Some older MDs may have a problem, but this DO seems to be well respected and runs the pain clinic here. He is cross trained as an anesthesiologist, but mainly does pain management and post op care.
