That's definitely above average for DO schools. Top 15% I'd guess (I'm pulling that number out of no where)

3000 hours of medical immersion trips? Are you counting time spent sleeping? 😛 If you're fudging that number I recommend that you don't simply because your application looks good enough, and that isn't going to help you.

The 3000 is between my immersion and EMT experiences over 3 years. I carefully calculated it out and believe it is as accurate as I could get it.

I just said I was average because I saw there was no above average category in the first post of this thread.

Thanks, Im really hoping for CCOM since i live so close. All my DO shadowing has been from CCOM alumni ( 2 of which on staff at CCOM) and ive even shadowed during OMM lab. Hoping that'll be worth something.

Aint it the truth. In a perfect future world ill be a practicing EM physician and still a FF working as an engineer (at the very least as a vollie). I would love to get in with this trauma doc Ive had some contact with too. He worked his way from teaching EMS to SWAT teams to being on one himself. Hes also on staff at a College of medicine.

FF SWAT Doc would be awesome👍

I think I definitely fall under the "Underdog" designation. I've gotten a lot of good information from people here on SDN. I'll do my best to keep the MDapps profile updated to help out others who might be in a similar situation to mine. Hopefully everything goes well. Good luck to everyone applying!

MDapps is down from a power outage due to the strong storms in TX (apparently). Should be up again in the near future. 🙂

Yeah... there have been major storms all week and will last through the weekend. Surprised my power hasn't gone out, yet...

MDapps needs a major redesign. I don't find it terribly user friendly.

No, the design is just really outdated and clunky. For example, one improvement they could make would be after you search for profiles, when you click to open a profile, it could open up within the window the way a facebook message or someone's facebook photo does. Also there is no option to arrange results by most recently updated, which would be another nice feature.
 
People love to complain about free services.
 
I don't find the interface to be terribly cumbersome.

I sure would like it back online though!

You do know that MDapps is the work of one single person who has a life, a family and a job? Its a free service, can't ask for more.
